Duration: 2010-2012 Sowfia workshop "Real Experiences To-date In Wave Energy Development" (Sowfia Network, 22/09/2011)
The SOWFIA project – “Streamlining of Ocean Wave Farms Impact Assessment” aim is to facilitate the development of European wide coordinated, unified and streamlined environmental and socio-economic Impact Assessment (IA) tools for offshore wave energy conversion developments. Wave farm demonstration projects will be studied in each of the collaborating EU nations. The proposal of this project was submitted to the EACI (Executive Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation) in the frame of the Intelligent Energy – Europe financing programme. The project started in October 2010 and the coordinator is the University of Plymouth. WavEC participates as the coordinator of one of the work packages (WP4), aiming to develop a environmental data collection platform of the different European test centres. In this project participate also the following entities: University of Exeter, Inabensa, Ente Vasco da la Energía, European Ocean Energy Association, Ecole Centrale de Nantes, University College Cork, Uppsala University and Hidromod of Portugal. |
