MARINEWIND

Objective

MARINEWIND – Market Uptake Measures of Floating Offshore Wind Technology Systems (FOWTs) will explore offshore wind turbines with the main goal of identifying constraints and opportunities to strengthen the role of floating offshore wind technology in providing innovative solutions for systems integration, exploring market, political and regulatory, financial, and socio-economic issues.

The MARINEWIND methodology is based on the analysis of the MARINEWIND Labs located in five countries: Portugal, UK, Greece, Spain and Italy. Social, environmental, technological and financial pilot studies will be analised based upon a multi-faceted data collection and analysis on barriers and enablers related to: policy measures, societal engagement and environmental impact, financial solutions, techno-economic implications and commercialization of FOWT.

The identification of barriers and new solutions will be done with the active participation of relevant stakeholders engaged throughout the entire life cycle of the project. A replicability plan will ensure widespread outreach of the project’s results and outcomes.

WavEC Contribuition

In the MARINEWIND project, WavEC will lead the communication and dissemination work package that aims at widely spreading information about the MARINEWIND activities and findings to the identified audience and exploiting its activities beyond the end of the project.

WavEC will also lead the subtask of "Market analysis of the MARINEWIND Labs" which aims to identify challenges, opportunities, risks, barriers and enablers to FOWT, and will contribute to other tasks and subtasks like the analysis of policy, regulatory and environmental barriers and enablers to floating offshore wind deployment and the analysis of financial, market and technological barriers and enablers and data collection.
