Projects

MERIKA

The MERIKA project (Marine Energy Research Innovation and Knowledge Accelerator) aims to improve and consolidate the research profile and international position of the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI), located in Scotland’s outermost region. This programme deals among others, with environmental related issues of offshore wind devices and their planning. WavEC activities will be devoted to investigate coastal and marine systems. A more technical part of the work will deal with the observation capacities, techniques and research to be performed on benthic and pelagic environments and more precisely on the effects of marine renewables in these environments.
