Events

The 22nd Numerical Towing Tank Symposium is organized by WavEC – Offshore Renewables. This conference focuses on the numerical simulation of flows around ships and offshore structures, with a strong link to realistic applications.

The objective of the event is to provide a forum for informal discussions among experts in the field and to disseminate latest results. Younger workers and Ph.D. students are especially encouraged to participate.

• Nonlinear flows around marine structures (LES, RANSE, Euler with or w/o free surface)
• Free-surface flows around marine structures (3-d ship seakeeping, free-surface viscous flows)
• Simulation of ocean renewable energy devices (wave, tidal, floating wind, floating solar)
• Related topics (validation experiments, numerical techniques, grid generation, etc)

The conference proceedings will remain available at their current location, and will also become available at the official NuTTS repository.

The event will be held at Hotel dos Templários, in Tomar, Portugal, between the 29^th of September and 1^st of October. The technical sessions will start 29^th September (Sunday) after lunch and end on the 1^st of October before lunch, in order to allow the participants time for their travel arrangements.The dinner event will be held on Sunday, 29^th of September, at the restaurant Taverna Antiqua.

Instructions and guidelines for preparing the abstracts and full paper are provided below. An early reply will help us in organising the event smoothly and is much appreciated. For the early feedback, a tentative title or topic will suffice. The extended abstracts of the proposed talks will be directly reproduced in pdf proceedings. Work in progress, encountered problems, etc. should be discussed in an open, informal atmosphere (no ties!) among colleagues.

Following the tradition of previous NuTTS events, the fees will be kept low to allow a maximum number of scientists to attend. The registration fees include accommodation (3 nights, including the night between 28^th and 29^th of September) and all meals, which will be held together with all the participants to maximize networking opportunities during the symposium. The fees are:

. 350 Euro for PhD candidates and students

. 400 Euro for authors

. 450 Euro for other participants
