Blue Economy – Offshore Platforms and Opportunities

The WaVEC - Offshore renewables organised its annual international seminar Blue Economy – Offshore Platforms and Opportunities that took place on 26th of November 2012 at the Museum of Electricity in Lisbon, Portugal. The event started with a speech of the Minister of Agriculture, Sea, environment and Spatial Planning and was closed by the Secretary of State of Energy. The event was sponsored by the Norwegian Embassy in Portugal, the Electricity Museum, EDP Foundation, TA DMC and the European SOWFIA project.
WavEC organised its annual international seminar, which aimed to stimulate national and foreign investment in the offshore renewable sector and thus contribute to position Portugal as a global player in this sector.

SI Ocean: 27 November 2012. Within the SI OCEAN project there will be a Work Package dedicated to resource assessment in which a methodology will be proposed for resource assessment of wave and tidal energy in the Atlantic Arc, as well as the predicted energy production targets for 2020, 2030 and 2050. This methodology was presented and subjected to validation by industry experts during this meeting in Lisbon. More information on the project website.
