Seminar 2014
United States – Portugal: Fostering Transatlantic Growth of Marine Renewables

Portugal and the United States of America have joined efforts in 2014 to organize the WavEC Annual Seminar entitled “Fostering Transatlantic Growth of Marine Renewables". The conference was organized in collaboration with the Embassy of the United States of America and American Chamber of Commerce in Portugal supported under the high patronage of His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Portugal and sponsorships of EDP, MDS, Generg, A. Silva Matos, Gómez-Acebo & Pombo Abogados, Rui Pena, Arnaut & Associados – Sociedade de Advogados, PwC, SystemicSphere, Vieira de Almeida and TA DMC.
The Seminar was organized around four panel sessions, each focusing on a specific theme: Associated challenges to harnessing marine energy and solutions; Logistic requirements for marine energy development; Partnering with the private sector and co‐financing; United States – Portugal technical cooperation.

An International B2B networking event, promoted by the Enterprise Europe Network Portugal, through the Portuguese Innovation Agency (ADI) with the support of the Luso-American Foundation was held on October 10th, 2014.
It brought together several companies, clusters, universities and R&D institutions and funding stakeholders, from Europe and the United States.
It was an excellent opportunity for European and American research and industry players in marine renewables to meet potential partners for future commercial agreements, R&D cooperation projects and technology transfer.
